Clinical Services

Trauma informed clinical care that meets you where you are

Whether you are carrying old wounds or navigating something new, our licensed clinicians bring warmth, clinical tools, and genuine presence to every session, for individuals, couples, and families.

You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from clinical care

Clinical care is for anyone who wants a dedicated, unhurried space to understand themselves better, work through pain, or simply grow. You might be dealing with anxiety that will not let up, grief that has nowhere to land, or a relationship that feels stuck. Or you might not have a label for it at all, just a sense that something needs to change.

At MBHW, our trauma informed approach means we never assume we know your story. We recognize that many of our struggles have roots in experiences that shaped us long before we had words for them. Our clinicians hold that complexity with care, moving at your pace and earning trust before asking you to go anywhere vulnerable.

Ways we work together

We tailor the approach to the person, to meet you where you are.

  • Individual Therapy

Therapy should feel personal because your story is personal. Individual therapy offers a private, supportive space to understand yourself more deeply, work through what is keeping you stuck, and create meaningful change. Your clinician meets you where you are and works alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and respect for your experiences.

Our clinicians draw from evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, DBT, IFS and CBT, while tailoring treatment to you, not asking you to fit into a predetermined box. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, career, life transitions, or simply know that something needs to change, we are here to help you move forward.

  • Couples Therapy

Relationships can be complicated, even when love is not the problem. Couples therapy creates space to slow down, understand what is happening beneath the conflict, and begin hearing each other differently.

Whether you are struggling with communication, rebuilding trust, navigating a major transition, or simply wanting a deeper emotional and physical connection, therapy can help you recognize patterns, communicate more intentionally, and create a relationship that feels healthier and more connected.

  • Family Therapy

Every family has a story, and the patterns within that story can shape how family members communicate, connect, and cope. Family therapy creates an opportunity to understand those patterns together.

Our clinicians help families move beyond blame and toward greater understanding, healthier communication, stronger boundaries, and meaningful repair. The goal is not a perfect family. It is a family where people feel heard, respected, connected, and emotionally safe.

  • Group Therapy

There is something powerful about realizing you are not the only one. Group therapy combines professional guidance with the connection and understanding that can come from sharing space with others navigating similar experiences.

Our therapeutic groups provide a supportive environment to build practical skills, gain new perspectives, practice healthier ways of coping and connecting, and experience growth alongside others. Groups may focus on specific concerns, therapeutic approaches, or stages of healing.

  • Psychiatric Medication Management

Medication can be one part of a thoughtful, comprehensive approach to mental wellness. Our psychiatric services are designed to look beyond symptoms and understand the whole person.

Through individualized evaluation, medication management, education, and ongoing monitoring, your provider works with you to determine what feels appropriate for your needs and goals. When beneficial, psychiatric care can be coordinated with therapy and other wellness services to create a more connected approach to your care.

  • Psychological Testing and Assessments

Sometimes the most important first step is gaining clarity. Psychological testing and assessment can help answer questions about how you think, feel, learn, behave, and experience the world around you.

Our comprehensive assessments are designed to identify both strengths and areas of concern, clarify diagnoses when appropriate, and provide meaningful recommendations for treatment and next steps. Rather than simply giving you a diagnosis or a test result, our goal is to help you better understand yourself and use that understanding to move forward with confidence.

What to expect

Starting clinical care can feel like a big step. Here is exactly what the process looks like, from first contact to ongoing care.

  1. Reach out

Send us a message or give us a call, with no commitment required. Our team will connect with you personally, answer your initial questions, and help you understand what to expect.

No complicated process. No pressure to have everything figured out. Just a conversation with a real person who is ready to listen.

  2. Complimentary consultation

We will schedule a brief, no-cost consultation to learn more about what brings you to us, what you are looking for, and how we can best support you.

This is also where thoughtful matching begins. We consider your needs, goals, personality, and preferences to connect you with a clinician whose expertise and therapeutic style feel like the right fit. If additional wellness services could complement your care, we can talk about those options too.

  3. Your first session

Your first session is about connection, not jumping immediately into the hardest parts of your story.

You and your clinician will begin getting to know one another, explore what you would like to change, and talk about what you hope to gain from therapy. Your clinician will explain their approach, answer your questions, and work with you to establish a pace that feels comfortable and productive.

You do not have to tell your whole story on day one.

  4. Care that evolves with you

Your care should never feel one-size-fits-all. As you grow, heal, and discover what you need, your treatment will evolve with you.

You and your clinician will regularly explore what is working, where you may still feel stuck, and what you want to focus on next. When helpful, your care may also be coordinated with other Midwest Behavioral Health & Wellness providers to create a more connected, whole-person approach.

You are an active part of every decision about your care. We are here to provide expertise, support, and tools, but the journey is yours.

Come as you are. We'll meet you there.
